Halloween

I know I know, I'm a little behind! :) This year McKall was Cinderella and Wyatt was Buzz Lightyear! McKall was so sad when I told her she wouldn't be able to wear her Cinderella dress for Halloween this year cause she was sick. She cried and cried, "please mom, please!" So I decided she could just put her dress on and we threw her crown in her hair. We didn't go to many houses before she decided she was done...poor thing. Wyatt loved every minute of it and was super excited he had his own bag with lots of candy! Although all he really cared about or ate was the BUBBLE GUM!! We didn't have the greatest Halloween this year, but we got through it!

My cute little Cinderella and Buzz...

Everytime I see this picture I can hear Wyatt saying, PEW PEW PEW..that's his laser sound!! I bought him a pair of Buzz Lightyear pj's but dorky mom didn't make sure they had a "red laser" on the arm. I cant keep up with him, washing the costume and him puting it back on...he's perma BUZZ, and the cutest one I've ever seen!!!

Our sick little girl...

Warning: this is going to be a very long post so if you just look at it and say, holy moly too much to read and just skip on to the pictures...I would probably do the same!

Where do I even start??? McKall gave us a little scare..ok a BIG scare this past week. Last Wednesday she woke up about 4:00 am screaming that her back hurt really bad. It scared the heck out of Chandler and I cause we had never seen her cry or hurt like that before. She had a fever of 102.7 and was screaming for us to take her to the doctor and make her back stop hurting. I gave her some tylenol and started getting dressed to take her to the ER. We got there and she seemed to have calmed down a little so I thought to myself, maybe I'll take her for a little ride and see how she does. Her fever broke and she fell back to sleep.

For about a year and a half now she has had these terrible leg pains that wake her from a sound sleep and she just cries. We were told they were just growing pains. So we thought maybe it was something like that and thought she was going to be fine, but that was not the case. She had another episode with her back and fever so we headed to the doctor. He ordered some fluids and blood work. After a little bit the doctor came in and told me her WBC count was way high and everything else looked good so they wanted to do a spinal tap on her to check for spinal menengitis. My dad gave her a wonderful blessing and just cried through the whole thing...he's one amazing man! The test came back negative...a big relief.

She was in the hospital for 2 nights getting fluids and antibiotics. We had no idea what was going on with her. All we knew was her WBC count had come down a little but was still scary high and her fever would not go away. My cousin Casey was the only person I could think about. The poor kid went to the ER for what he thought was gallbladder issues and was diagnosed with Leukemia...so so sad. His WBC count was very high and thats how they found out.

We talked with our Doctor and decided that Primay Children's was the best place for her at this point. We thought there was a chance our sweet girl could have Leukemia. We went home to get a few things ready to head up there. I went into the bathroom and got on my knees. I dont think I have ever prayed to my Father in Heaven so hard in my life. All of our family and friends were praying for her and all I can say, without a doubt in my mind, prayers are answered. We got to Primary's and they ran tests on her and told us it was not Leukemia...FEWWWW. It felt like a HUGE weight was lifted off our shoulders and we could breath again. She was only there over night and they diagnosed her with Enterovirus, which is in the family with Menengitis. There is no way of treating Enterovirus so it just had to run it's course. While they were checking her over one of the doctors found a heart murmur, something that is very common in children so we are not too worried about that but the doctor suggested we get it checked out to be on the safe side.

Just across the hall of our hospital room was a young boy who had to have a nurse sitting outside his door 24/7. I dont know what was wrong with the poor little guy but just thinking of it now brings tears to my eyes. There are so many sweet young children up there that are very sick or have medical illnesses. It broke my heart to see them like that but at the same time made me so greatful that we were only there because of something McKall was going to heal from lots faster then most of them.

We got home and the next day she started throwing up and couldn't keep anything down...back to the doctor we went. They did more blood work and her WBC count came down. She was just very dehydrated and needed fluids. Her fever comes and goes and she gets these migraine type headaches but she is on the mend. She looks so much better today then she did a week ago. In the end, we will be headed back to Primary's to see a Rheumatologist for her legs and a Cardiologist for the murmur. They are seriously amazing there! The doctors work in teams, which I think is so cool! Funny thing was, a guy I went to school with, Adam Ware aka Doctor Ware, was one of her doctors. When he walked in the room I was speechless! A great big thank you to him for being so stinkin smart and just plain wonderful! Also a big thanks to Dr. Rosenbeck, her Dr. here in Nephi. He asks me all the time how she's doing and was so concerned about her. His cute little kids even made a fun Halloween sack for her!

I cant say THANK YOU enough to our amazing family and friends, who we could not have done any of this without. We love you all so very much and like I said, cant thank you enough for all you have done for us! McKall got lots of flowers, balloons and goodies that she loved so very much! A little boy named Braxton, who is in McKall's preschool class, sent her some beautiful flowers! She was telling everyone they were from her boyfriend!! His mom, Kelsey, who I grew up with, said he did it all on his own...so dang cute!! Wow what a crazy/scary week we had. We love our children so much and to see them sick like that is painful. We hope like heck that kind of sickness will never enter our home again.

Cookies

I've been getting the Bountiful Baskets, which by the way is totally AWESOME!! $15 bucks for a bunch of yummy fruit and a ton of other yummy stuff is well worth it! The last time I got it they had Halloween sugar cookies for ten bucks that were already baked and cut into cute shapes, all you had to do was frost them!! This full-time working mom of two kids was all over that!!! The kids loved frosting them and Chandler and I loved eating them! LOL!

Men go hunting, ladies go shopping...

This last weekend the guys got all bundled up and off they went up the mountain. This was Wyatt's first time hunting and he loved it! He had his cute little gun and was all ready to shoot a "big buck!" They got up bright and early Saturday morning and I thought he would be mad he got woke up so early but as soon as Chandler said the words "hunting" and "the boys" he was wide awake and so excited! He is just getting too big :( My dad is the one with the tag, hopefully he gets a BIG one!

While they went hunting us ladies took a fun little shopping trip. We went to a craft show in Mt. Pleasant, then we ventured to Orem and went to a new store called Hobby Lobby. It's a huge store full of all kinds of cute crafts and decor. Then it was off to my favorite place to eat...Olive Garden mmm mmm mmm! We ended our trip at the mall and McKall's favorite, the Disney Store! Oh and not to forget, Cold Stone ice cream! Oh Oh and to really not forget we ran into my uncle Curtis and his family at the mall. BYU had a game that day and we were told that Riley did awesome!! What a fun day full of laughs, family and food!!

Funny story behind the random donkey:
Chandler asked Wyatt if he wanted to pet the donkey and Wyatt said, "no I wanna shoot it!" Chandler said you cant shoot donkey, then Wyatt said, "where's Shrek?" Too funny!

This is Riley, BYU's kicker #99 and our kids' idol!! :)

Pumpkin Patch

McKall and I were able to take a trip to the new little pumpkin patch here in Nephi, with McKall's preschool class. It was oh so fun! We took a little tractor ride to the pumkin patch and off the kids went searching for their pumpkins. McKall was running around like crazy trying to find the perfect one...it was so cute! She found one for herself and one for Wyatt, he was excited she got him one too! They also had a cute little maze that McKall would have played in all day if I would have let her...she loved it! She and I decided that we for sure need to take dad and Wyatt to the pumpkin patch soon!! :)

This is McKall's cute little friend Kyrie!

Bread making fools...

and Rachel is the main one! She has gotten us all into this bread making fun! We went to a "Pantry Secrets" bread making class a couple weeks ago and got "the secret recipie!" Ohhh man is it ever so yummy! Sure wish I could give it to ya all, but it's a secret and you have to go to a class to be in the "loop!" :) Rachel has been making bread like mad here lately and is sharing her sweet skills with my mom and I...watch out Betty Crocker! LOL! Check out those Italian loafs...holy moly they were huge, but every bit got eaten that night...can you say YUMMY!

The kids weren't to into the whole bread making stuff so they decided to have their own fun...

Family time...

The kids have been a little sick lately...pink eye style! :( So since Dr. Bailey is out of town this week, my sweet bestest pal Ferrin worked for me yesterday. :) Chandler has to work all weekend so he decided to take the day off too. The kids were tired of being cooped up in the house so we picked up my dad and took a drive up the canyon! The leaves were seriously gorgeous and it was fun family time well spent! I love my family more than anything...they're the GREATEST!!

Football!

Chandler and I were able to go to the BYU game last Saturday and it was tons of FUN! We got to sit by Mitchell and Cody whom we had lots of fun with...what a couple of hoots! Chandler loves teasing Mitchell and Mitchell loves teasing Chandler! They are just like Riley...awesome personalities! BYU hasn't been doing the greatest but they were awesome especially in the 1st and 2nd quarters! We were cheering so loud Chandler lost his voice a little! HA HA! They only won by 3 points but that just made for a close intense game!!! After the game we ate at Steak and Everything, it was dang GOOD!!!
We bought Wyatt a football and I dont think he's put it down since and this kid has an arm on him...I'm talkin spiral throws and all! Future quarterback???? McKall got some little pom poms and likes to cheer and say, "Go Riley!" She's the cutest cheerleader I ever seen!
Hopefully BYU can keep it up, we'll see.... GO BYU and GO RILEY #99!

Happy Birthday....

to Papa Jimmy! He turned a whoopin 77 years old on Thursday the 7th. We went over to his house for cake and icecream, and man o man was it yummy!! Papa Jimmy is one AwEsOmE grandpa...he really is the most caring and loving person. He's been having a little trouble with his heart lately but hopefully they will get him all better real soon! We LOVE you tons Papa Jimmy!
ps these pictures were taken with my cell phone so they are not the greatest...

Round 3

Well this is round 3 of the dreaded dentist. McKall has been such a trooper through all of this, way to go little sweetie! She has 2 caps on three sides of her back teeth and one spacer hooked to the one cap cause this time they had to pull one of her teeth :( She cried so hard but the dentist reinformed me that she was ok...I think he could tell I was nervous especially when he pulled her tooth out and I seen how stinkin huge it was and she bled like no other. The tooth itself was so small but the root was so big! I feel like I've turned into the "crazy about teeth mom" cause I'm so overly concerned about flossing and brushing morning and night...hopefully I've brain washed my children about the importance of flossing! HA HA! The dentist is stinkin expensive and having to pay a fortune for baby teeth that are going to fall out is hard to do. We have learned that flossing at a young age is soooo very important...too bad we had to find this out the hard way with McKall. I so wish we would have started flossing McKall's teeth when she was lots younger :( You live and learn though right. Anyway McKall got to put her tooth in a fun little "tooth necklace" and put it under her pillow. She was super excited for the Tooth Fairy to come and she got a whoopin $1.50! Now only one more cap to go...we can do this.
I love the ladies at the dentist office! Lindy is our very favorite and we found out at Call's last appointment that her and Chandler went to school together at Clearfield High...such a small world!

Family night...

We started having family night on Sunday nights with the whole family and it's turned out to be lots of fun! Each family takes a turn and does a lesson and a treat! It was our turn this last Sunday. I seen these really cute bats on my friend Bethany's blog so I decided we would read a little story on tithing and do a fun little craft for the kids! They loved it and they turned out so CUTE!! Here is a link to the crafty little pumpkin bats! SO FUN...

I never decorate for Halloween but Dr. Bailey had Ferrin and I get a bunch of decor for the office and it really got me in the "Halloween mood" and made me want to decorate my house :) It's nothing fancy but the kids loved helping and they love our little skeleton friend, Mr. Bones :)

Girls night!!!

Us wild and crazy gals usually try and get together every now and then for a girls night out! We have lots of laughs and lots of fun!! It was my aunt Michelle's birthday so we decided that was a great reason for dinner and a movie! We went and seen You Again, it's a good one! We also seen previews for Life As We Know It, coming out on Oct. 8th...it looks so good and yet another fabulous reason for a girls night out! Wahoo!
We ate at Red Robin then stopped at Wally World on our way home. We got home way past my curfew but I wasn't in too much trouble! Us gals know how to have a good time!!
