Happy Birthday Chandler and Valentines Day!

Chandler turned 29 on February 2nd. WOW, his last year in his 20's...old fart. HA HA! I took him to the movie and dinner. Then on Super Bowl Sunday I made his favorite, yummy cheese cake, to take to our party at aunt Jan's house. We had a great time. He's such a great guy and the best dad ever. We love you so much Chandler...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We had a fun day on Valentines. McKall is quite the gal...when she was making her valentines for school Chandler asked her who her boyfriend was and she said, "Braxton Kelsey." We started laughing and I told her that Kelsey is Braxton's moms name and that his last name is Hooper. Ha ha, she said, "oh ya, but Braxton Hooper is still my boyfriend." What a silly girl. She made us laugh..it was cute.

We went to the movie Monday night with my mom and dad and the Steiner clan. Gnomeo and Juliet, it's a cute show...the kids really liked it. Then we took Valentine's to the ones we LOVE! What a fun day! Hope you all had a great heart day.

McKall and I made cute little heart shaped sugar cookies on Sunday. She loves to help me bake stuff. I'm no Betty Crocker but dang these cookies were pretty yummy.

McKall's cute little valentine bag she made at school. She called it a "love bug!"

The three cuties I love the most.

Play date

These two silly girls and Wyatt had so much fun playing last Saturday! They played house, ate candy, watched Tinkerbell, did nails (minus Wyatt on this one), and baked and frosted sugar cookies! We love play dates and miss Hallie Jada for sure needs to come over again soon!

11 step program for those thinking of having kids....

Loved this, laughed hard...they are all so TRUE!!

Lesson 1
1. Go to the grocery store.
2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
3. Go home.
4. Pick up the paper.
5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2
Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and berate them about their...
1. Methods of discipline.
2. Lack of patience.
3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.
4. Allowing their children to run wild.
5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior.
Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers.

Lesson 3
A really good way to discover how the nights might feel...
1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)
2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.
3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag, until 1AM.
4. Set the alarm for 3AM.
5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and watch an infomercial.
6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.
7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.
8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.
9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful and together.

Lesson 4
Can you stand the mess children make? T o find out...
1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.
2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.
3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.
4. Then rub them on the clean walls.
5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.
6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How does that look?

Lesson 5
Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.
1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.
2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6
Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.
1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment.
Leave it there.
2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.
3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.
4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7
Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 8
1. Hollow out a melon.
2. Make a small hole in the side.
3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.
4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.
5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.
6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine- month-old baby.

Lesson 9
Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street , Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know, you're thinking What's 'Noggin'?) Exactly the point.

Lesson 10
Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly. (Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy'; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required). Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years. You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 11
Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else continually tug on your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above. You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

This is all very tongue in cheek; anyone who is parent will say 'it's all worth it!' Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you'll need when you become a parent!

Happy Birthday Papa Rod!

My dads Birthday was on the 20th. We all went to Sizzler to celebrate and eat some yummy food! If you dont know my dad, your missin out! He's such a great guy and would do anything for anyone. McKall and Waytt think he's pretty great too! He watches them for Chandler and I and we couldn't be more appreciative of all he does to help us out! We thank Heavenly Father everyday for him and the example he is to us. He's amazing! WE LOVE YOU DAD!! Your the BEST! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

p.s. grandma Janice was really there, she was just hiding in the back!

Pirate Island

A couple weekends ago Chandler and I took the kids to Pirate Island. The kids loved it! The whole pirate theme was really cute and the food was good. I dont know that we would rush back anytime soon but it was fun...kinda like a Chuckie Cheese but in pirates. I myself like Chuckie Cheese better, but we had a good time! We also became "executive" Costco members that night! Whoop Whoop! They have some awesome things there and are suppose to be building one between Springville and Payson this year! YAY!

Our "Little Rascal!"

(Push pause on the playlist)

Wyatt, your SO "STINKIN" FUNNY!!!!

Check up

I took McKall to Primary Children's on the 11th for her check up. Chandler had to give a presentation at work and couldn't come so we took Rachel Meggan with us! She seen the Rheumatologist for her leg pains and the Cardiologist for her heart murmur. It went pretty good. Back in October when the Doctors told us she may have arthritis, it worried me sick. I've always pictured McKall being a little gymnast like I was, and if she had arthritis I knew that would be really hard. The Rheumatologist, Dr. Christie Inman, said she does not have arthritis, YAHOO!!! She did say that McKall is very very small for her age, like "not even on the charts" small. She also mentioned that she may have Celiacs Disease. Which is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. She wants to talk to the Immunologist and will let us know for sure next week. She also said that McKall has psoriosis. She gets rashes behind her ears and under her arms. I was talking with Dr. Bailey, the Doctor I work for, and he has psoriosis. He told me that it's a proven fact that people who have psoriosis have higher IQ's....I believe it! McKall, make mommy and daddy lots of money K!!!! LOL!
They also did a CT scan on her cause her lymph nodes and sinuses were swollen. The scan showed a big huge thing of infection and one of her nostrals was almost completely closed. She said McKall has had the infection for a long time. Call me a bad mom but I seriously had no clue and she hasn't complained of anything in her head hurting since she had the headaches in October. Antibiotics and nasal spray is what we'll be doing for a while to get rid of it though.
The Cardiologist said that everything looked good with the echo. She just has what they called an "innocent murmur." Also that she has a "venous hum" in the artory in her neck. Both of these being very normal and she should grow out of it. YAY YAY and YAY!!!
In the end we are so thankful that this has all turned out to be nothing serious. We will get to the bottom of all this and get our little gal better soon! What a long day it was and a big THANKS to Rachel Meggan and to all my amazing family and friends for the help and support you have given us! I dont know what we would do without you! :)
This is us "patiently waiting" in the jeep between appointments!!!

Sleigh Riding New Years Day....

The road we found was SAWEET!! I didn't get any pictures of Rachel and I going down on the old fashioned wood sled, :( but every time we wrecked we were laughing so hard we couldn't get up! That sled hauled some major booty, it was AWESOME! Chandler and Tyrell went on it together and biffed it hard at the bottom....so stinkin funny...

I think I wrecked about 122 times, thanks to Chandler, and man did I pay for it the next day!

Wyatt got cold and fell asleep in the warm truck with grandma and grandpa! That's why he didn't make it in a lot of the pictures. We had a BLAST though and will for sure be going again soon!

New Years Eve

We've had fun New Years Eve parties with the fam since I was a little girl. I'll tell you what, we know how to have a good time!!! This year we partied all night at Jan's house. We ate delicious food, played BINGO, Minute to win it, the quarter game, and the traditional Newlywed Game (;which Chandler and I WON, WHOOP WHOOP!;) We had so dang much fun! A great big THANKS to Auntie Jan and fam for having everyone over and hosting one AWESOME P-A-R-T-Y!

The oreo game was hilarious...seeing everyone's facial expressions trying to get the oreo into their mouths, classic! Kaden was the CHAMPION at this one!!!

Christmas at The Mitchell's!

We had such a great Christmas this year! Every year on Christmas Eve my grandma and grandpa rent a building at the fair grounds. We eat, play games, and just have lots of fun enjoying each others company. We also do white elephant gifts and laugh and laugh every year at the funny things everyone comes up with! We love it and the kids think it's pretty funny too! Then of course the kids get to open their new Christmas jammies, which is always fun!
Joni's gift was the funniest...a sweet hat with magnifying glasses...hilarious!

Jason and David got into a wrestling match, it was pretty funny! I'm sure if you ask David who won, he would say he did and if you ask Jason who won, he would FOR SURE say he did!! LOL! If you ask me, it was a tie!

I almost forgot to post a picture of these scrmuptious rolls Rachel and I made! They really were quite tasty if I do say so myself!! :)

I decided every year on Christmas Eve that Chandler and I would give the kids an ornament of their favorite character for that year! McKall got Tinkerbell and Wyatt of course got Toy Story! It turned out cute and the kids were excited and got to pick their own special place for them on the tree.
When we put out the cookies and milk for santa, Wyatt got mad cause he wanted to eat the cookies. He wouldn't even get in the picture cause he said, "no does are my cookies!" When he noticed the plate Christmas morning he got mad again and said, "Ahhhh, santa ate my cookies!" He is quite the kid, I'll tell you what!

The kids got spoiled this year, like always, and loved every single minute of it! I love to see their faces when they walk into the front room and see all the presents wrapped. McKall wasn't sure what to do, she was just super excited! Wyatt started jumping up and down saying, "HOLWEE COW!" It was the cutest thing ever. Our video camera has been acting up lately so we didn't get it on video, DANGIT!!
Chandler and I gave McKall a Cricket Doll and Wyatt a sweet Buzz Light Year! Cricket is so CUTE! I got one for Christmas when I was 7. Ya she is vintage for sure! You put tapes in her back and she tells stories and her eyes and mouth move...so CUTE! I LOVED her so much, she was my best friend. We got her on e-bay and she works great! When she came (all the way from England) Chandler pulled her out and I started crying...I know I'm a baby :( but it was so special to me and I couldn't wait to give her to McKall. She loves her and loves listening to the tapes and seeing her talk. Wyatt's Buzz has the utility belt and everything...he loves it! Chandler said he wanted to find something for Wyatt from his childhood but there really wasn't anything we could think of. Buzz is pretty dang cool!

Of course we cant forget about Max! He got a cute little hoodie and a soft blanket. He looks so dang cute in his hoodie and now his tiny little body can stay warm...

After all our presents were open we got dressed and went to Rachel Meggan's for breakfast...my favorite!! We had yummy waffles and lots of other yummy stuff! Then we opened gifts from my mom and dad. The kids got gift cards to Walmart and they cant wait to go spend them! The adults got new garments, something that Chandler and I were in much need of.
To end the fun Christmas weekend, everyone came over on Sunday to visit. Bart, Louise and their family came and Mitch brought his guitar. He's a dang good singer and I always get teary eyed...I love it! When I heard him play for the first time I was pregnant with McKall and had a good excuse as to why I was crying but now, like I said before, I'm just a cry baby. McKall loved it too! Her and Wyatt got cute little guitars for Christmas. McKall had Wyatt's guitar and was trying to be like Mitch! He sang a song called Cheese Burger in Paradise. Now she walks around the house singing, "Cheese Burger Paradise," and playing her guitar...it's pretty funny!

The kids were pretty worn out by the time it was all over and all they wanted to do was eat popcorn and watch "Little Rascals!" I dont think they even made it past a couple bites of popcorn and the previews.

I love spending time with family and having everyone over to our cute little home! We had a great Christmas and I cant believe how fast it came and went! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too! THE END

Temple Square

We were able to go to Temple Square this year, something I love to do at Christmas time. Although the last time we went was just before Chandler purposed to me! (ya it's been a few years, ok like 6;) I told Chandler we are for sure making it a family tradition to go every year. The lights are beautiful and it really gets me in the Christmas spirit! I love the special feeling you get when your there. I mostly LOVE seeing the statue of Christ and of course I cry every time...it's so pretty! It was a little crowded but other than that we had a wonderful time!

Boo Yah!

So last Sunday Riley, aka BYU Kicker #99, brought Wyatt this SWEET football! He got some of the BYU players to sign it for him. Riley knows how much Wyatt loves to throw the football so he wanted to get him one signed by the players. Wyatt was so excited and slept with it Sunday night. Thanks Riley, your the coolest guy we know!

Gingerbread House!

Last week we let the kids make a gingerbread house. It was hilarious cause all Wyatt wanted to do was eat it!! Everytime I turned around he was sneaking some and we would laugh and laugh. McKall didn't think it was too funny though, she kept saying, stop eating everything Wyatt or I cant make it look cute!
I told Chandler to put it together and we would just let them have at it and decorate it! They did a pretty good job for doing it by themselfs. There would probably be a lot more decor on it if Wyatt hadn't eatin most of it! LOL! They had a lot of fun building it and I think we'll make this a new tradition at the Mitchell house!
